I had to jump through hoops to get a copy of a photograph of a person who
died in 1930 from Sam's Club.  They were actually considering having me
bring in his death certificate.  The time period of protection is 75 years
for photographs.  I think the protection should expire when the photo studio
is no longer in business or 75 years whichever comes first.
