Robert: As an additional thought, does your questioner want to identify those remaining names where there really is only a middle initial, or no middle name at all, as opposed to people with missing parts to their name?
That might prevent additional work if he or she runs this list every year or so. I have a distant cousin with three kids, one with a middle name, one with a middle initial, and one with no middle name at all. As I recall, this was discussed on the list several months ago. Ths US military requires a "payroll signature" of the form "George W. Bush." Our friend John Doe would have to sign as "John (NMI) Doe, as in No Middle Initial. >From the earlier discussion, his friend John Q Public apparently would have to sign "John Q (IO) Public, as Initial Only. I don't remember if anyone had a suggestion on how to record this so that the name on the Individual screen was correct, but letting readers know that this individual did in fact not have a middle name, or had just an initial, so later readers wouldn't spend research time trying to find a name that wasn't there.
