Dammit EJT, I've already been violated - I'm one of those who suffered directly as a result of 9-11. And take a good hard look in the mirror before you make any assertions about how "we" deserved it. Neither you nor I and most certainly my brother, have anything to do with any action at any time, except by accident of birth with this Nation, what may or may not have been done to Muslims long before we were born.

Well, damn it, Doctor, haven't we all suffered?
And, yes, I've taken a bloody God damned hard look in the mirror, every day I awaken, and sometimes I have look away, ashamed of myself, for allowing such transgressions against the whole of humanity, as have been conducted in the =NAME= of the most holy.

So, please, do not pretend pretentiousness, okay?

My brother didn't die in the WTC by sheer luck, I lost a multi-million dollar fortune to telcom/stock fallout that followed and a marriage. You have it exactly backwards. This blame-America nonsense, which is the genesis of this attitude, is suicidal.

I can not pretend to know any of your brethren, nor you mine.

What libs engage in when they talk as you do below is moral relativism. They make it categorical that the invasion of a country is wrong under all circumstances. It isn't of course. You have the NAP-given right to take out any threat the moment you perceive it or have evidence of it. It is utterly irrelevant that Saddam didn't have WMD's in reality. He acted as if he did and that he intended to use them via surrogates. This is why the war was justified regardless of the inane propaganda going on to the contrary. The failure was not to get out at once and not getting a Congressional declaration of war. IF we had real leadership, it would have been the Saudis that we would have taken out.

What I find amazing is that if you found out your neighbour was plotting to destroy your house with explosive in the middle of the night you would have no trouble taking the creep out yourself or with the police. But when a nation engages in the exact same behavior, we cringe and wring our hands. Is that rational?

Well, that is interesting, to say the least ...
My neighbors have no desire for any such thing of the sort, as they are the most pacifistic any would hope to wish for - should that be a wish ... I would rather hope that they would be Klingons, or even Romulans, or even the worst sort of humans to occupy this place.
At least =THEN= I would understand them.

        But you? You pretend.

I ask: What is worse than pretentiousness?

It is a fine thing to face machine guns for immortality and a medal, but isn't it a fine thing, too, to face calumny, injustice and loneliness for the truth which makes men free?
