Yes, indeed. However, I cannot take all the credit for getting the email
side working once again, as a sharp-eyed young engineer down in Boise-land
actually was the person who actually applied "the fix". However, I should
note that, as of yesterday, the news and email are now running faster than
ever, thanks to the acquisition of an upgrade to my DSL line. As of
yesterday I am running at 7 Meg down and 1 Meg up, which makes the news
behave like a brand-new toy.

Nah, Frank, you should leave the comment about below the belt. That seems
to be where our Mayor, Jim West, pays the closest attention anyway.

Actually, one of the allegations floating atop the cesspool of news and
misinformation is that he has offered jobs to young gay men he met online,
one of whom happened to be an undercover investigative journalist for the
Spokesman-Review. ARGH! That's what we really need in this city, another
Cowles employee controlling what we read in the paper!

He was pretty much the same as a rabid dog when it came to any gay and/or
lesbian legislation when he was still in the legislature. It has been
common knowledge for years that promoting any such legislation meant you
most certainly got a visit from Jim West.

<sigh> If this turns out to be true, he will cost the City of Spokane a
bundle of cash-- so the incoming Mayor can change the office furniture,
custom-made curtains and carpets. We simply cannot have those
incriminating stains in the carpeting when the new Boss takes over, now
can we?

It used to be when one read the Spokesman-Review, you nearly always could
predict what dribbled down onto the front page, since they nearly always
put the Cowles' agenda first, and the people's needs last. However, in the
last few days, given the explicit nature of the morning news, I might as
well have purchased one of those tabloid magazines they put in racks by
the checkout stand at the grocery chains. At the rate they're going,
pretty soon now the Cowles will realize there is BIG MONEY in selling
pornographic content on the front pages of the paper. That and a legendary
history of misleading and falsely telling stories would perhaps mean that
the Cowles will invent new stories about West the next time sales are
suffering.

I think if Mr. West is convicted of any felony crimes, as a course of all
this, out of the kindness of our wicked hearts, we should take up a
collection to buy him a year's supply of bars of soap, as a not-so-subtle
hint for his days behind bars.

However, the issues you have noted are unquestionably valid. He is a liar,
a pedophile and a graceless hypocrite. As such, he has no business
remaining in public office.
