--- Comment #7 from Gauthier <[email protected]> --- (In reply to ady from comment #6) > Those were not the only details I posted. The additional paragraphs that > mentioned exactly how to obtain either 2% or 200% are very relevant to this > ticket. I agree they are important details. But I do not do anything regarding the % symbol. I do not type it or remove it, I followed exactly (and only) the steps you pointed to, that is: 1. Open a new spreadsheet 2. On cell A1, format it as percentage 3. While on that cell, press the number 2 on my keyboard, then press enter. That is literally it. > I can use the same spreadsheet that you attached in comment 5 in order to > introduce 2% (replacing the initial 200%), and to then re-introduce the same > 200% that is seen initially. IOW, that attachment proves nothing. I'm not trying to prove anything, I'm just showing what happens for me when I follow the steps you asked me to follow. That was the only point of this attachment, which at least illustrates the issue I'm facing. > There might be some setting that prevents the automatic addition of the > percentage symbol when typing-in the numeric value, and I can think of other > circumstances that might generate the problem. Be great to have some insights as to what you're thinking about here. I have tried to look for settings that might affect this but with no luck. Also I would have thought that Safe Mode would reset any settings to default, yet I'm still facing the issue in Safe Mode. > Unless you actually fully read and follow the additional details I posted I'm not sure why you're implying I'm not reading all the details. I have read them all, only none of them applied as I was not messing with the % sign. And there were no additional details "to follow". As far as I can tell, I followed your instruction to the letter, and then posted the output / reported back as requested. One relevant point might be: > Please be aware that Calc might automatically add the percentage symbol to > the right side of the value (as in "2%") while you type-in the numeric > value, even before pressing [ENTER]. You should leave that symbol; do not > delete it. For me the % symbol does not appear automatically when I type the number 2 in the cell. One other thing is that I use spreadsheet extensively and everyday for my work, have used exclusively OpenOffice, then LibreOffice since 1999 and have promoted ODFs ever since. This is very much a new behaviour I had never encountered before when dealing with percent formatted cells. > at this point I can only say that I cannot reproduce the problem. Out of curiosity, what LO version, OS, DE, display protocol (X11/Wayland) and vcl are you using? I wonder if it might be a vcl or wayland related issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.
