That is the info I was looking for. The result in the ods file depends on it,
thus the result of 200% does not illustrate the problem; but that phrase I just
quoted _is_ the difference.

I wonder whether some setting related to autoinput and/or autocorrection might
have any impact on the automatic appearance of the percentage symbol.

I also wonder whether this is limited to Linux, or to some VCL, or...

One additional test would be to use a cell with "General/Standard" formatting
(not as percentage), and type in it "2%" (without quotation marks) and [ENTER].
I would expect the cell to be automatically formatted as percentage.
