How the fsck did "Red Hat has become scary?" turn into an argument over
whose country is better?

SuSE 7.31???

Where the fuck did you get that?

They just released SuSE 7.1 last month.

You've found very little in the way of flaws in my source. All you've done
is dispute the assertions I've made about clothing. Note that the document
I cited acknowledges that westerners are not as restricted in terms of
clothing.

But many of the points still stand. Are women allowed to drive, or leave
the house without a male relative ?

Are the Europeans living there citizens ? I didn't think they'd grant
citizenship to non-musims. The article gives the impression that the
government are reasonably pragmatic in that they allow other groups to
quietly go about their business.

I wasn't bashing their culture at all. And I certainly wasn't bashing their
religion (it's not the *religion* that's the problem, it's that the *religious
state*. Religion and politics are an awful mix) Indeed, there are many
countries where I'd have no problem with the culture, but I would have a
problem with the government (good examples would be Malaysia and Singapore. I
have several friends from both those countries, but I don't hold either
government in high regard.)

You know something more agonizing than hanging by 300-pound test
fishing line sewn through your testicles until the fishing line
finally abrades it's way through your tissues and you fall on
the floor head first?

If you do, then I would certainly hate to be you.

Sounds disteurbing....traumatizing even.

Maybe we could declare Clinton's mere presence in public to
be a disturbance of the peace and a psychological danger to
all he meets.

Don't be so naive.

AT&T (multi-platform OS, the TRANSISTOR [electron valve] and lots of other stuff...)
Texas Instruments (first IC chip)
Intel (first Microprocessor)
MIT (share your code with your friend (original "hacker")/Open Source culture)
MOSTEK (microcontroller)
DEC (standardization of the 8-bit byte as the standard base memory unit)
US DARPA (Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency) TCP/IP

etc. etc.

Errr.... not really. I've met more loud-mouthed jackasses who are in IT
than I can count. Hell, I am one.

As for the best of them automatically being attracted to Linux... I find
this statement silly. To me the best of them are doing really hairy shit
like writing their own 3d engines or writing DNA-decoding algorithms...
Linux is simply just a means to an end to these people (although it
probably may be better means than Windows). There is plenty of mediocre
software writing to be seen in Linux (just go to Freshmeat).
