Correct. EVEN Stallman is a LATECOMER in the Open Software movement.

You are naive. I'm talking about the MIT Open Source culture that
dates to the 1950's. All Stallman did was institutionalize it by
creating the GPL and the Athena Foundation.

Mafia$oft sold off Xenix before OSI even formed.

Xenix was sold to the Santa Cruz Organization in the mid-1980's.

OSI didn't appear until a few years later.

We need more judges like this.

What's more outlandish is that the Prosecutor's office had the

http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/2/18505.html

As quoted from the article:

"According to Microsoft's Windows Logo Program System and Device
Requirements, WinXP Personal (i.e., the consumer flavour) has a minimum
requirement of 64 megabytes, in line with Win98 (we do still mention it
then) and WinME. WinXP mobile is also specced to run in 64, while the
requirement for the Professional version is 128. You'll be wanting a gig of
RAM for the Itanium one, it says here."

1gig for Itanium! Does Microsoft just assume a business has a bag of
million dollar notes sitting in their store cubbord? 128MB for
Professional! and remember, thats Microsofts "recommended", x2, and you get
the realistic amount of memory. Microsoft claimed 64MB for Windows 2000
Pro, when in the real world, you would need atleast 128MB to run at a
decent speed. When I Microsoft going to realise that if they want to move
the maximum number of people to this new platform, decrease the system
requirements by de-bloating and de-bugging it, or else the penguin will
bite your ass.

My university I went to ran Digital UNIX w/ Samba hich served quite a few
computers. During a tutorial in our first year, we were asked to name
OS's, most people said, "Windows 3.11, DOS, Windows 98/95/NT/2000" and the
lecturer responded, "all of you guys would be great as sales reps for
Microsoft, but could someone name a REAL OS", 4 people including me named
them, IRIX, Solaris, VMS, OpenVMS, QNX, DigitalUNIX, HP-UX etc. etc. hence
the jouney into the unknown land of UNIX began. By the end of the course,
people were so thoroughly disgusted with Windows, I, along with 3 others
were asked for guidence on how to install Linux, on several occasions I
installed Linux on the people's computer and gave basic linux tutorials.

60,000? I'm not arguing with you that the market for windows is huge.
I'm arguing that there are more peoples that don't buy theirs softwares
in that market. Beside, didn't you argue previously that it was not
because of market share that software developpers weren't seen the linux
market as viable for theirs products? Was it because we want everything
for free?

I object to that statement that linux user want everything for free.
Give me something that is worth paying for (and that i need) and i
will buy it.
