Um, not sure how that got in there really. It's been there a long time, and I can't remember where I got it from, don't think it was the kernel docs, maybe a HOWTO or some tips on a web page. Anyway, a quick glance at the source shows that it behaves in exactly the same way as 2 does. I will change it to 2 though and report any differences to this list. Darren.
