DNS, though taken for granted a lot of times, has a lot of subtle issues related with it and can give you a lot of headache as an admin, if not done right.
Without any mailce, I suspect that you need quite a lot of information about the basics. Recommend "DNS and BIND" by Albitz and Liu [O'Reilly - The Grasshoper Book]. Covers basics very well, right through to medium and semi-advanced topics.
Yup - and you'll also see tutorials on DNS by some really good people (APNIC techs, and people from isc.org for example) at SANOG.
