2.2.11 without my latest patch does not include any of the "new" code which 
I'm interested in getting feedback about. Could you please try the latest
patch with our phone? 

The previous IrCOMM code did not fragment transmit data in case PPP deliver
larger frames than the IrLAP frame size, so when such a thing happens, the
PPP link _will_ go down. This is why people have had problems with the link 
being dropped in the "old" IrCOMM impl.
