Aahh that's a difference with RH 5.0. RH gives a 5-second window.
After the window it defaults to Linux.

As a real new Newbie at that time I could not change Lilo config yet.
The danger of working in root scared me too, at that 'new' newbie stage.
I ended up taking the LINLOAD alternative. It works great sofar.
