My pppd dials my ISP. From the familiar sounds in the modem I can
tell that the ISP is answering, ready for logon and password.
In windows at this point a POST-DIAL TERMINAL SCREEN pops up on
my screen. In that screen I have to MANUALLY give my LOGON NAME
and PASSWORD, then press F7 (function-key) on the keyboard).
The terminal screen disappears (changes to a 'connected to ...'
minimizedng screen) and the link is ready for use. Next Eudora
collects all my email from the POP3 server.
In Windows, at this point, Eudora negotiates with the POP3 server.
Sends my email-username and password.
I am using RH 5.0, default setup. In 'X', using the control-panel,
selecting networking, I added 2 dial-up TCP channels(?) ppp0 and
ppp1. I set the comport for the modem.
Everything appears to be working.
How do I check-in?
What is the Linux equivalent of a "Windows manual check-in called
'postdial terminal screen'"?
If I type my logon name, bash answers: Command not found.
