pppd is doing the dialing already. No need for minicom first.
My ISP authentication is passwords only. There is a password to enter
the system (logon-name + logon-password) and there is a password for
the POP-server (say: POPserver-password) to get my email.
I found the script.... not very obvious it is: chat-ppp0
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/chat-ppp0
I found the tel.numbers that I had entered via the controlpanel.
I could now see that there is space for the logon-password. (had not
seen this script before, the info was entered via the control-panel)
I now have access to the ISP using pppd 'only' using this:
"/sbin/ifup ppp0" - to dial
But the tel.number and passwords is in "chat-ppp0" script. That's why
I could not find the script.
My next challenge is to get the email out.

I do not have network enabled.
The install-program clearly gives the option:
Networking (not dial-up) Y/N ?
I did not enable it.
