Ok.  So, for the sake of simplicity (same interface and whatnot in 2.2 and 2.4)
what's wrong with having to use DevFS in 2.2 as well?  It does exist, it's still
updated, and getting the usb stuff beat into it for the 2.2 backport shouldn't
be hard.  It also shouldn't be a requirement for usb to work at all, just some
of the "fancy" stuff.
