Randy,

thanks for the feedback. You are right, I am printing files
that are a little bigger than your 800K... More in the order
of 60..100MB per page.

I am using Gimp with the new Gimp Print Plugin
(http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net) to print these files.

If you have lots of bandwidth and some space on your hard disk
then you should get the PDI Test image from
http://jhcloos.com/pub/gimp-print/PDI_Target/

The image in the bz2 file (and the gz file) is about 5000x4000
pixels, so the data is there to create large print jobs. You
can however start with the jpg file, if you blow it up to a
full letter page the driver will create the same amount of
data as for the high res image.

BTW I tried this also on a Stylus Photo 1270 with the same
result, so it's not the 740 that causes the problem.

Is there anything else I can try to get more information about
the problem - e.g. turning on debugging or adding fprintf statements
for debugging purposes?

Karl Heinz
