This is my reason for Grub usage. I find grub simpler, and it works well. I was surprised when redhat7.3 defaulted to grub, so just went with it for all my installs, modifying the menu.lst to accommodate new kernels. As long as redhat stays in place grub functions well with my several distros and a constantly changing setup.
