Assuming hostnames or <upstairs> and <downstairs>
1. On <upstairs> type:
# xhost downstairs
2. Telnet to 'downstairs'
3. On 'downstairs' type
# export DISPLAY=upstairs:0.0
4. Run your app at the command line as usual, the DISPLAY will be output
over the network to your machine upstairs.
