It might be as easy as: X -query name_or_ip_of_hostmachine This is better done after you exit from X on the client machine. If you get error messsages, post them. The X server must be running on the hostmachine. Just start kde or whatever on the host machine. There will likely be some permissions problems, but they are easy to solve.
