Hosting-review.com looks pretty sleazy to me. Their presentation just makes me think they are interested making money though ads. I don't think they really care about providing quality reviews about web hosting providers. I'm not saying they are a scam.
For 3.50/mo you are going to get what you pay for. 1page appears to be based out of Vegas. i checked their address. Its just one of those mailbox shops. I'm not impressed by anything their web site offers. Granted I'm pretty elitist when it comes to this stuff. I think think hosts like DreamHost and The Planet are crap, but truth be told what they offer will work for the needs of most. The reason they can offer unlimited this and that is because hardly anyone ever uses that much. In the rare chance they do they are generally limited by the connection on the other end. Doesn't matter if their webhost gives them unlimited storage because their home/work ISP can only upload stuff so fast. Heck anyone who visits my house can have an unlimited amount of water to drink while they are there. So my 2 cents. Get some feedback from friends and people you know. That's going to be the best info you can get. If you really want the cheapest thing you find then just pick one. There are thousands of cheap west hosts out there. The experience you get form the one the charges 3.50 vs one that charges 6.00 is going to be minimal, but both will all have unlimited bandwidth, storage and crappy support. My advise. You can get a entry level linux VM from rackspacecloud for $11/mo +bandwidth. Or you can get the exact same box from Slicehost with 150GB of bandwidth for $20/month. I don't have the entry level unit but I use a rackspacecloud vm and my monthly bandwidth charges are generally about $0.10 (cents) for incoming and the outgoing is not more than $1.00. I host my stuff, friends stuff, and friends of friends stuff, this mailing list. if I were to use slicehost and pre-pay for my bandwidth (that I would never use) my monthly cost would be almost double what I pay at rackspace. Its cheap, its reliable and when I need it to scale up it can handle it. -Chris On Thu, Sep 23, 2010 at 2:57 AM, Paul Saenz <[email protected]> wrote: > Take a look at this web host review.
