Well, in this case, why not having the general discussion on the DNSO on the
IETF list, that has far more members? ;>)

Jokes apart, my point is that the purpose of the mailing lists is to focus
on discussion on specific subjects. The IFWP fulfills a role for general
discussions on ICANN and Internet Governance, while the DNSO GA is focusing
on Domain Names.

To have everything in one list will be much more work from the reader's part
to sort out the subjects.
