If you make it to Belfast let me know. One of the best hidden towns
around. straight across the b ay from
castine. welcome to use my car for a couple hours. We have the best
public pool in Maine and it's the most
kid friendly town I've ever seen. The town custom makes and maintains
street toys - no kidding...

We have 7 days on a O'Day 40. The kids make landing at a civilized

I'm sorry we'll miss you, we have to be back for the start of school.
Where is this summer go?

Stephen:
Everyone should have your problem! You are embarking on what is,
arguably, the finest cruising ground in the world. Rockland is a
wonderful jumping off point as the major Maine islands are just east
of there. You have left out one of the most important pieces of
data: how much time do you have? Also, do you want to anchor out or
make a civilized port every few days? Both are very possible and
enjoyable. What will you be sailing?
I have cruised Maine for 35 years, and still do. If you give me an
idea of your timeline, I will suggest an itinerary for a first-time
Maine cruise. I will be spending the month of September cruising the
Maine coast, so maybe I'll see you there.
