Same here, I can use LMMS with JACK and my Firewire card but not without 
  the hiccups Fabrizio also describes. That's very annoying. And I don't 
want to use plain ALSA, I can't because my main audio systems runs JACK 
as the standard soundserver.
I'll try if it works better with something like an ALSA loopback device 
for example. If not then in the long run I fear I will have to follow 
Steve's advise even though I really like LMMS.
