The problem simply is: I don't know what and how to improve it. LMMS works 
fine with all other audio backends and IMHO I'm using the JACK programming 
interface the way it is supposed to (as described in the API docs etc.). So 
what's wrong here? If someone would provode some nice patches, I'd really be 
glad about it. All I want to say is that for me personally improving JACK has 
a rather low priority - I rather spend my time in developing other new cool 
features and fixing more annoying bugs :)

However there were reports, LMMS runs fine with JACK (no xruns at all) when 
running both as root, because LMMS can use realtime scheduling policies then. 
So you should try that first.
