I care. It seems to me that we have registries where we have different documents allocating values from the same space. This makes sense: we need to coordinate things. IMHO, whether that space is a set of bit values, octets, shorts, longs, or strings doesn’t matter at all. It should be tracked and coordinated so that we don’t have collisions.
