Before asking you, i read the documentation and spent two days tying to do what you say. But my network adapter (3c509B-TPO) refused everything i tried. The led on the switch a the other end of the cable didn't even light : the network adapter is not activated by the floppy (i tried all the functions of rom-o-matic). Finally I found a 3C905B-TX with a boot ROM socket, with no ROM in it. And it works : the led on the switch is on and the workstation searches for a DHCP server. Could it be that the 3c509B-TPO , not having a socket, doesn't recognize instructions of boot ROM included in the boot floppy ? All my workstations have these 509 adapters. Do i have to change them all ? Thanks to all of you for answering me, i was a bit upset by this troublesome adapter.
