Thank you for understanding.  I am actually not a newcomer.  I have been 
part of the community for 5 years.  I'd say that most OSS software suffers 
from poor documentation.  This is why I spend so much of my time trying to 
fix that (I've contributed to Gnome and OpenOffice).

I didn't mean to imply that anyone owes me anything.  I DO roll up my 
sleeves and pitch in.  I have contributed dozens of pages of very 
carefully written documentation.  Currently I'm working with the 
OpenOffice people.

Exactly.  That's the problem I'm having.  The documentation assumes I know 
some basic information which is not explicitly stated.

For example, the documentation would have made more sense if it had stated 
that LTSP is add-on software and not a distribution.  It would also help 
if it explained how things work at the workstation end.

I also pointed out the problem of too much detail, which tends to hide the 
actual content.  This makes it more difficult to get through the 
documentation.
