When a PDF->PNG converter is missing, convertDefault.py is used to convert
PDF to PPM. When such a converter is available, PNG is preferred.
But the point is that with both ImageMagick 6.2.7 and 6.3.0 the -define
option doesn't solve bug 2418 for me, so it is useless in any case.
