Has anyone looked the M100/102 from an IP (patent) viewpoint? Most of those may have expired, if not all.
Just wondering how much would a 1:1 re-creation cost today. A group of Russians(?) reverse-engineered a Nintendo GBA, so anything is possible. The M100 keyboard and the display might be very difficult and expensive to get manufactured today. > Steven Ranft <s_ra...@hotmail.com> kirjoitti 14.5.2015 kello 17.09: > > Model 2000 ( of the Model T) > > You are correct, there is a Tandy 2000, but it's not a TRS-80 Model 2000, and > not a TPL > > I refer to the TPL described by Steve Adolf on Bitchin 100: > > http://bitchin100.com/wiki/index.php?title=True_Portable_Definition > > True Portable Definition > > The minimal definition for true portable laptop is: > Light-weight > General purpose > At least 15 hours battery life on a charge with normal use > Instant or near-instant ON/OFF > No "heat issues" > UI navigation is easy and efficient without a mouse > The ideal laptop: > Off-the-shelf batteries > Easy access to built-in programming language > No "heat" issues > Full-travel keyboard > > I Think those are the PRIMARY design parameters. > Adding a LithiumPolymer battery, a mouse pad are EXTRAs. > I believe that anything proposed by should be able to use off the shelf > batteries, for over 16 hours of normal use per set (Excluding WiFi, BlueTooth > and other power hogging functions) > It should boot to a MENU driven system that is easy to navigate with the > keyboard only.
