If Shawn has a line that can't get to 44-46 kbps, than he is too far out in the country to entertain any hope of landline high-speed.

Not at all true, I could connect no better than 26.4 via dial up and cable came to my road, cows were thrilled with the channel selection and I was thrilled with the highspeed internet.

As you mention, wireless will be spotty at best and very expensive.

You would have to define expensive. While installation may be a tad pricey, line of site and satellite have "reasonable" monthly fees in a lot of areas, and the number of areas is growing by leaps and bounds.

Guess we better define wireless while we are at it :-)
