Hi,

I'm able to type in an artists name and it takes me to the artist in my songs 
table.  I don't know if it matters but, are you using list view?  it's command 
option 3 to put the selected playlist into this view.  Oh,  and I'm not using 
the column browser.  This is toggled on and off with command B.
