Hi,

It sounds like you guys are using the column browser.  This is not a solution 
but, why don't you turn it off?  It is command B.  I like just using the search 
field.  If I want to listen to an artist, just type in the name then tab once 
or VO right arrow twice to the songs table and all the songs by that person is 
displayed.  You can also type in an album or song title.
