that hiding the e-mail sender address *except for verified known
senders* is
a good idea at all.
I was wondering about that as well!
Our dominant MUAs are designed by people who do not understand the
technical limitations of SMTP email. All they care about is looking
good.
If you show the full From, maybe you should also display the Return-Path
and Sender and Reply-To, and that opens up so much support load for ugly
and confusing data that you'd never do that... So just make a pretty
"From" that is correct for all the messages that you really care about.
It's an anti-secure mindset.
