I know some of those people and in this case, you're just wrong.

There's been endless human factors research on this stuff.  Showing
the email address is a WKBI, seems plausible but in fact doesn't help.
Partly that's because non-technical people don't know what to look for,
partly because it's more subtle than many technical people think.

Typical question.  Which of these domains is a large well-known bank?

 1.  APPLYONLINENOW.COM
 2.  BANK-AMERICA.COM

Of course it is the first one. 

There have been some efforts to try and provide better signals.  For 
example, any domain name ending with .bank belongs to a real bank
but there's only about 2000 of them and most of them are just
parked rather than leading to the bank's actual web site.
