VPC also is not multiprocessor aware so he will only be using one of his processors for it unless the threads are split at MOL in which case MOL would essentially be emulating hardware and most of the bonus of VPC being written for PowerPC will be lost, he will not even be able to get the same performance as you do from your iMac.
Oh and on a side note, I have VPC 6.1.1 running on several Macs, no issues and it never caused me to "reregister with MS" as you claim.
As I understand it, however, MOL is not really emulation - it intercepts the calls but can pass them straight to the hardware, so it's almost full native speed. In this situation, running VPC on MacOS on MOL is not much different than just running VPC on MacOS.
