SheepShaver is not linked to MOL as MOL only runs on ppc machines in the same way Win4Lin wont run on anything but i386.

There is now a SheepShaver port for Mac OS X. Lest this sound like a
purely academic pursuit, it does allow certain apps that don't like
Classic to run within an older version or custom version of MacOS in
their own "private hell" and, since it uses the CPU natively, at
nearly full speed (only the graphics pipeline suffers -- otherwise,
the speeds are competitive with Classic mode).

What, MoL to hard for OSX? SheepShaver is x-platform compiled from source, well its the best way to suit your own hardware so I guess there would be a port for X. I know X isn't linux but you'd figure MoL to be a better choice to port.

So I could potentially install System 7.1 and run good ol' Word 5???

You'd do that with the osX port of Basilisk II or Vmac for the 4mb squeeze of a classic or lower OS versions. SheepShaver starts at 7.5

As work on SDL improves SheepShaver should also improve, for all it would seem. ;)
