Good Morning;

I've been trying trying to create a new database with the Installation
Wizard in the Database Manager. When I try to create the database, I get to
the last setp and hit the start button. It shows,
Starting the dtabase instance ... OK!
Initializing configuration ... OK!
Activating the database instance ...

Then I get a popup that says
-24988 sql error [db_activate dbm,dbm]

Now, I admit that it may be a user error, I am new to MAXDB/SAPDB, however,
even when I select the 'Demo' database and go with all the defaults I still
get this message. I've tried this on two machines, one Windows 2000, the
other Windows XP. Both machines have plenty of plenty of free memory and
diskspace. I installed MaxDB from the package
maxdb-all-win-32bit-i386-7_5_0_8.zip
and did a full install. I've tried stepping through the commands in the
admin manual for creating a new database instance in dbmcli and I get the
same results / message. I have been unable to find any useful information
about this error code, so please forgive if it's out there and I just can't
find it in the groups / manual.

Please advise, and let me know if any logs / other information would be
helpful

Thanks,

Billy Willoughby
