I was 19 years old once...

I trusted somebody to build me up a good L20 motor because I new shit all
about motors... Got ripped off blind... Yeah, you may say I was dumb, BUT...
The guy had the attitude of "This kid is only 19 and will no doubt do silly
things.."  And hence, made me a very unbalanced wobbly as shit motor and
didn't do anything internally that I'd paid for..

Not flaming you or anything, but perhaps you could explain to this kid what
difference it will make, etc... Maybe he could learn something from you!!
