Chris,
To keep the 240K strut & brakes on a 180B and have the highest ride height
you simply use the standard height 180B/200B springs and tops. The 240K tops
are the thinner ones and also have the different bolt pattern to the L4's.
I think you're confusing the lowering the ride height technique that
requires the post '70 1600 springs with 240K struts which will drop a 1600
~35 mm and a further 10 mm if you use the 240K strut tops but you have to
modify the tower to fit the tops.
regards
Terry

Subject: 240k struts and 180B tops?
A mate of mine is thinking of buying my 240K struts from me, and using them
on his 180B rally car.... I know that if you use the 1600 strut tops on the
240K's in a 1600, you will get a slightly lower ride height (or so I've
heard), but he is trying to raise the front for clearance. So, if you use
the 240K struts AND 240K struts tops, will you get a higher ride height than
that of a stock 180B? WOuld the height be even higher if you use the 180B
tops with the 240K struts in the 180B, or even with 1600 tops?
The aim is to get the longest possible strut into his 180B.
Also, what is a good asking price for good condition 240K struts (fully
painted in red and black), machined discs and rebuilt (stock parts - cleaned
out) twin spot calipers??
Thanks a lot, and if anyone else is interested in them, just email me back,
Chris Halpin
