Howdy,

A genuine 2.4L can be had by clearancing a Z24 crank (96mm) to fit into the L20b block combined with a 4mm overbore (to 89mm), but I suppose it would be possible to offset weld/grind a Z22 crank (92mm) to achieve the extra stroke.  Maybe this is what that engine builder meant by modified Z22 crank? Probably better to stick with the clearanced Z24 crank for better strength and lower cost.

As for the 2.4L vs 2.0L debate, the bore/stroke and rod/stroke properties of the LZ24 more than likely dictate it's reluctance to rev as hard as a modified L20b.  We all know that power is a function of torque and revs, so I'd say the LZ24 would be relying on strong torque, and the L20b would be relying on revs, to produce the 200hp.

Hum.. well maybe it was a Z24 crank, I can't remember off the top of my
head.
