Subject: RE: sunny booster + 7/8ths
Zac,
I'm
here mate - I was missing in action last night as I got invited to a piss up
over at the club and against my better judgement (like when I woke up this
morning) I went for once.
What
are you doing? You're in uncharted waters here my friend as I've never looked
at the combo you're trying to use.
What
I know works on a 1600: Kiki booster and spacer off 510, 610, 710, 120Y, Sunny
with Nabco, Tokico or Sankyo 3/4" or 13/16" (preferred) cylinders off the same
cars plus 7/8" of 240K and C210 Skyline, caution req'd with the 7/8", make
sure that the booster to cylinders rod locator is in it's
fitting.
Have
you destroyed the Kiki booster completely? so you can take the Pulsar stuff
back and get a Sunny 13/16" cylinder?
I
just don't know how you are going to get out of this easily. With the brakes
that you have I wouldn't use a 3/4" (180B/120Y) as it will be too
touchy.
Isn't the bolt pattern on a R30 cylinder different to the Sunny
cylinder?
regards
Terry
AARGH I think I am going to
explode!!!!!
I jsut went and bought ANOTHER booster, this
time a N10 pulsar one. it is about the same size as the one I bought
yesterday but it has the correct bolt spacing to fit the R30 master cylinder
on (actually the n10 and r30 have the same type of nabco cylinder but the
n10 is 13/16th and R30 is 7/8th).
phew, much relief there, it might actually
work. go to fit it onto the datsun - DOH the damn thing hits the clutch
master and the linkage rod won't reach over the top of it!!!!!
I saw the tiny little 180b master that Terry
talks about but it appears to have the same bolt spacing setup as the sunny
booster I destroyed last night. I can see how it could be modified to fit
the R30 master cylinder on but this would mean not using the alloy spacer
that is on it. then, without that spacer, when the cylinder is bolted on it
becomes partially actuated.
terry, where are you, help me!! :)

7/8ths
correction - don't cut off the top and bottom
bolts because the two side bolts are not long enough to reach through the
spacer and mastercylinder alone.
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
how did others get this combo to
work???

7/8ths
Guys I got a sunny 'kiki' booster today
with the intention of fitting it and the R30 skyline master cylinder I
scored a while ago.
Unfortunately it turns out the 7/8th
cylidner does not exactly bolt onto the booster. the top and bottom
bolts need to be removed from the booster and the left and right bolt
holes on the cylinder need to be elongated to accomodate the studs on
the booster. no great deal, I can handle that but it doesn't make it a
perfect bolt on unfortunately. I think I would like to keep these bits I
have and just perform the light modifications to make it all fit. it's
gotta be better than
Also the 200b booster I removed (took about
3 hours, those things should be banned from 1600s) has outlets for
'rear' 'front left' and 'front right' so of course the previous owner
modified the brake lines appropriately. now that means they won't bolt
onto the skyline 7/8ths. I'm not sure what is required, maybe some type
of junction box off the skyline or 180b?
cheers for the advice!
