I've read about them in the US, maybe it's not the same engine or I was
unlucky to have 2 duds but both with similar problems usually convinces me
to beware. Early Navara had Z24 which hasn't got a good reputation either,
so long term Navara buyers must have been a loyal bunch, mind you they're
laughing now as the VG30 is a real nice engine. The Pintara (bought new) had
more problems than I thought possible and not only engine, it had the
gearbox replaced too. It spent whey too much time off the road and as it was
a work car it cost me time and money and I've not bought another new Nissan
since.

hmm that reliabilty issue is in direct contradiction to what the yanks - i
have been talking to those guys for a few months now and that all seem to
rate the KA24DE
(16 valve) as fairly bullet proof and very reliable engine???

im beginning to see the problem as being any time part are needed i shel out
big bucks or source them from yanke land??
