Bob, I think you might find that it's running a bit lean, try richening up
the mixture and see how that goes.

Subject: Clutch and Backfiring

Hey All,

What should I expect to pay for a clutch kit for a 260z? Also I recall
there is some issue with different length bearings or something, what do
I have to ask for when I am buying everything? And can I get these
clutch aligning tools from Repco or similar?

Also I have a problem with backfiring which just seems to be getting
progressivly worse. In the beginning it only really happened at low
revs, like below 1250. That limit got higher and higher, and now it will
do it at all revs if I give it a bootful, and just generally runs like
crap. Pulling the choke on a little fixes it right up and makes it run
like a dream. Basically everything on the ignition side of things is
new, except the coil, and because the choke fixes it I am thinking it is
a fuel problem. The oil in the SUs is topped up, and it only got tuned
about 4 months ago, and seems to be getting bad too quickly to be needle
related. Any suggestions?

Regards,
Bob
