In my experience the following occurred, steering was stiffer to turn,
stability probs at speed (increased toe out from drag) and wheel shimmy at
certain road speeds.
Not a pleasant experience.

Yeah I would think the steering would be heavier - given that the
majority of the extra rim width is distributed out more than in, if you
know what I mean, resulting in the centre of the tyre contact patch
being further out. Errol or one of the other guys has probably driven
with this sort of configuration and might be able to give an indication of
how much of an effect it has on steering.
