The older HF sets with two independent gauges has 134 adapters on the
end of R12/22 hoses. The newer set, with both gauges in a plastic
housing has only 134 fittings. THe older one could be used with any
"old" refrigerant, and 134.
Unfortunately, my old HF set burned up too.

On my HF R134 gauges, the hoses have threaded fittings that screw
onto the r134 couplers. I never thought about the possibility that
the hose fittings might be R12 fittings. I should try to screw one
of my Snap-On gauge sets onto the HF R134a couplers.
