Could the machine possibly have a lot of oil in the tank and
somehow added a lot of oil into the system with the freon? Don't
know enough about these machines to know if this is possible. If
that is possible though then even charging with cans now may not
change anything.

I might try charging from cans first, and if it still does not work I
will recover that and then pull the system apart and see whats up.
