I have 3 pedals in my 240D.
Teach me? Are there youtube videos showing this... I wonder?
Sounds like a nice challenge... if I can keep from wrecking things.

You don't need but two pedals - brake and accelerator.

Begin with the engine off. Shift into low (you will find you can do this without using the clutch). Use the starter motor to get rolling and start the engine at the same time. Speed up the engine, then let up on the accelerator until there is no load on the engine. You will find the gear lever now can be moved to neutral. Lower the engine speed to be what is right for the vehicle speed in second gear. Gently slide the gear lever into second. Proceed through the other gears in the same manner. Of course in downshifting you will be temporarily speeding the engine in neutral to match the gear speeds.

Just remember to shift into neutral before you stop. Then, to get going again turn off the engine, shift into low and use the starter motor.

I did this for some years with a heavy farm truck. Didn't seem to hurt it.
