I work with some of those government employees. It makes me crazy.

Here is an example:

Not long after I took my current position, I was at my desk after lunch on a
Friday when a group of people walked in. "Why are you here?", they asked. "Uh,
I am working, why?"

Seems that years ago, when people were paid by check, employees were given an
extra 20 minutes for lunch on "payday Fridays". We have been paid by direct
deposit for at least 15 years. However, the "lifers" continue to abuse this
privilege despite it not being relevant.

This is the environment I work in. One of laziness and entitlement. Makes me
crazy, but I continue to maintain my work ethic.

On the same subject, I just had my annual evaluation. The highest level of
performance is "Satisfactory". There is no way you can "exceed expectations" or
over achieve. It's not allowed.
