I think that what you guys are talking about are parallel flow condensers vs. single channel serpentine and multi channel serpentine flow condensers. All that cross flow means is the freon moves in a perpendicular flow pattern to the air running through the condenser. All condensers that I am aware of in cars have the freon moving either from one side of the car to the other. The air always moves from front to back through the condenser or in a perpendicular pattern to the freon flow. The original condensers on our cars are multi channel cross flow condensers. The new ones that are up to 33% more efficient are the parallel cross flow condensers.

I think that cross flow in regards to advertising to sell condensers is just a buzz-word used by some companies to make it seem that they have something better then others since as I said they are all cross flow if they are used in a car. I don't even remember ever seeing any evaporators that are not cross flow. Come to think of it a parallel flow evaporator could probably help as much in our cars vs the multichannel ones that are in there now. I'll have to see if someone makes a replacement.
