Your premise is socialist. Repeal bummercare. Give the inscos and

determine who buys ins and what ins is offered. Allow the
policyholder to shop for docs, hosp and drugs. Before WWII, we had
good docs, good hosp, a few drugs, and no med ins. We all got along
just fine.
BUT . . . in 1940 the average life expectancy was about 60 years.
We have come a long way since then.
Modern medicine can be a good thing.
It should not be just for the wealthy and you should not have to sell
your house to pay your medical bill if you need some significant medical
treatment.
For example, a friend is a snowbird who spends the winters in AZ. He and
his wife drove down around the end of October a few years ago and
arrived on a Thursday. On Friday, he experienced some chest pains. His
wife is a retired nurse and he has had heart issues in the past. She
took no chances and insisted he go to the hospital to be checked out.
They kept him from Friday afternoon until Saturday afternoon and despite
their best efforts could find nothing wrong with him. The bill was over
$20K. That is SILLY.
